Summer Beauty Favourites

I don't get a chance to talk beauty here all too often as I really only have a handful of products I use over and over again. But I thought it was about time I did a round-up of the products I've been loving, and what better way to do it than seasonally! This summer I have been on accutane (a type of acne medication if you've never heard of it) so my skincare has been very minimal and as my skin has got better, makeup pretty natural. I still love lusting over new releases but am slightly more careful where I put my cash. So without further ado, here are the beauty products I've loved this summer and will probably continue to use for the months ahead.

Dr. LeWinn's Ultra R4 Collagen 360° Eye Masks
I have actually never been one to use eye masks, but with these I am completely converted. Unlike traditional eye masks these go under and above the eye, which makes for a very cooling and refreshing experience. I love applying these as a treat after a long day and love how bright and glowy my eye area looks afterwards.

Diptyque Eau Duelle EDT
I would say this is more of a wintery perfume but I have been dosing myself in it anyway. I love the idea of having a signature scent, and after a few months wearing this nearly every day I think I've found mine! I'm bad at explaining fragrances, but it's a very warm and comforting scent, it's almost spicy but has a touch of sweetness.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant
Although this balm contains petroleum  a controversial ingredient – it is still my favourite product to use on my lips because nothing else seems to cut the mustard. It acts as a protective layer and doesn't sink into the lips immediately unlike some other balms, which is what I like about it. It's become increasingly essential to my routine as I go through a very dry lip stage!

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
Products like this could be looked at as a fad, but I have been liking using this the last few weeks. Having a calming scent to smell that is the same every night almost forces me to get into relaxation mode. I hadn't been having much trouble sleeping, even before buying this, but I just loved the idea of spraying a calming scent before bed time as a small luxury. It's expensive for what it is, certainly, but it's the small things in life that bring joy right?!

Surratt Beauty Lipslique in Eglantine
Because my lips have been #wrecked I haven't worn this as much as I would have liked over the last few months but since buying it I have fallen in love with the shade and formula. I don't think I could go back to wearing regular lipsticks after trying these.

Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator
I've started adding some Clinique products to my skincare routine recently and I have been loving everything I've tried so far. This moisturiser has become a staple in my morning regime as it sits well under makeup and leaves my skin feeling silky soft. I like that it's really lightweight and doesn't clog my pores like so many creams can – overall it's a great summer moisturiser.

Mascara is the one beauty product I can never settle on, I try so many of them but rarely does one make a significant impression. But this has definitely been my favourite mascara this summer and I think it only gets better the longer you use it. At first I didn't love how it made my lashes look spiky and almost spidery, but I've found applying it with a wiggling motion is the way to go. It separates the lashes nicely and gives them just enough volume and really good length.

I got this spray from my hairdresser so it might be hard to find, but I had to mention it as it has become my favourite hair product. I use it as a heat protectant and it makes my hair so soft and manageable, I couldn't live without it now!

Have you tried any of these products?

  2. I can't believe I haven't tried that this works pillow spray. I use to think it was gimmicky but the amount of people that rave about it has me thinking otherwise now. x
